Kent native Jennifer Hermann spoke to more than 60 in attendance at the recent Kent Area Chamber of Commerce luncheon held at the Kent State University Hotel and Conference Center. Seated, from left, are Jennifer Hermann and Kent Mayor Jerry Fiala, and standing, Amanda and Jeramy Patton, owners of Sitting Pretty Linens; Lori Wemhoff, chamber executive director; and Sage Culley, sales and catering manager, KSU Hotel and Conference Center. Hermann is a brewster (female brewer) with Market Garden Brewery in Ohio City. She started home brewing in 1998 and has won numerous awards. Her achievements include becoming both a Certified Beer Judge and Certified Cicerone. "I have a deep passion for brewing beer," said Hermann. "What we need in Kent is a microbrewery where people can gather and enjoy great beer in a communal setting, like it was meant to be experienced." The luncheon was sponsored by Sitting Pretty Linens.
