A July 12 car accident has resulted in the death of a 2014 Stow-Munroe Falls High School graduate.
Andrew Moncheck, 18, of Munroe Falls, died Saturday evening at Akron General Medical Center from injuries suffered in the accident, according to the Summit County Medical Examiner's Office.
The accident occurred around 1:30 a.m. in the southbound lanes on Interstate 77 in Bath Township.
Moncheck was a passenger in a car driven by Kyle Earley, 18, also of Munroe Falls.
According to the Ohio Highway Patrol, a car driven by David R. Brown, 39, of Akron struck Earley's vehicle from behind, forcing Earley's car off the side of the road, where it struck a ditch and overturned several times. Moncheck, who was riding in the front seat, was ejected.
He and another passenger, Joseph Combs, 20, of Stow, were transported to Akron General Medical Center by the Bath Township Fire Department. Combs' injuries were not specified.
Neither Brown nor Earley were injured.Brown was given a portable breath test which showed a blood alcohol content of .096. He was arrested, charged with OVI and taken to the Bath Township Police Department.
Calling hours for Moncheck will be held from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Redmon Funeral Home in Stow. Services will be at 9:30 a.m. Thursday at Holy Family Catholic Church in Stow. Burial will be in Silver Springs Cemetery in Stow.
