Severe thunderstorms, tornadoes possible in Portage County tonight

Portage County and most of northern Ohio are under a severe thunderstorm and tornado watch until 9 p.m.

The National Weather Service is reporting possible heavy thunderstorms with the potential for heavy rain, large hail, damaging winds and a possible tornado. Flash floods also are possible.

Residents are urged to seek shelter if storms occur. Heavy rain was reported earlier in Garrettsville, as well.
