Windham planning to hold 2 new events

Two upcoming events in Windham are the first of their kind for the village.

On Sunday, the village will host a movie night at the Community House. At 5 p.m. "Finding Nemo" will be shown, followed by "The Jungle Book" at 6:45 p.m. The event is free and open to the public.

Guests should bring a blanket or chairs to sit on. Small refreshments and snacks will be provided.

On Oct. 15, the village will host its first Oktoberfest celebration.

Along with a cornhole tournament, there will be a chili cook-off and wine tastings. Child-friendly activities will include a bounce house, pumpkin bowling and pumpkin toss.

There will be also be food trucks, and two bands will perform at the community center stage.

At 7 p.m. tribute band OC/DC will take the stage, followed by Bad Company tribute band 10 from 6 at 8:30 p.m.
