Published: April 15, 2017 4:00 AM

The Stark County Sheriff's Office and members of the Stark County OVI Task Force will be conducting sobriety checkpoints in the county on April 21, Sheriff George Maier announced.

Deputies and other officers will be conducting roadside checks of drivers for alcohol or drug impairment.

"We intend to inform the public that officers will be vigilant in detecting and apprehending impaired drivers," the sheriff's office said. "We want to strongly recommend to those who will be consuming alcohol to plan for a designated driver or make other arrangements."
