Brittany R. Clement was sentenced Monday to seven years in prison for ramming a Portage County sheriff's deputy's cruiser during a chase in November on S.R. 14 in Ravenna Township.

Common Pleas Judge Laurie Pittman handed down a six-year sentence on a charge of felonious assault on a law enforcement officer, a first-degree felony, and a one-year prison sentence for failure to comply, a third-degree felony.

Clement, 23, pleaded guilty to those charges and a misdemeanor impaired driving charge January. In court, she said she has been sober for the last five months she has spent in the Portage County jail awaiting trial.
