A fire caused $25,000 worth of damage to a pole barn in Randolph this evening.
Chief Michael Lang of the Randolph Fire Department said the pole barn, at 1113 Aberagg Road, was a structure that a homeowner had finished into a repair shop. A crew of 17 firefighters, all from the Randolph department, arrived to find heavy smoke coming from the bay area.
It took the crew 45 minutes to get the blaze under control, Lang said, because of the steel siding on the inside and outside of the building. The fire started inside the wall, and was contained to the front corner.
The homeowner was at the barn at the time, but was not injured. No firefighters were injured.
The cause of the blaze remains under investigation.
