State Rep. Kathleen Clyde of Kent has launched her campaign for Ohio Secretary of State
“Ohioans deserve better from their leaders in state government. Our big cities like Cleveland, Columbus, and Cincinnati deserve better,” she said during her announcement Tuesday in Columbus. “Our hundreds of small towns just like my hometown of Garrettsville, Ohio, deserve better.”
Clyde has pushed for early voting and extend early voting days and hours and has introduced legislation for automatic voting registration.
“No matter who you are or where you live, I will put the people of Ohio first by bringing real accountability and transparency to my office and securing and modernizing our elections so that every Ohioan’s vote counts and every Ohioan’s voice is heard,” she said.
Before her time at the Statehouse representing Ohio’s 75th district, Clyde was an attorney and worked as deputy legal counsel to the speaker of the Ohio house. She also served as an election official directing the Franklin County Early Vote Center during the 2008 presidential election.
