Aurora Memorial Library, 115 E. Pioneer Trail, is gearing up for its Summer Reading Programs for children and teens.
Amazing Adventures through the Ages is the theme for preschool programs, which are designed for children ages 2 to 5. Weekly sessions will be held at 11 a.m. Mondays in the downstairs gallery starting June 5 and run through July 10.
Summer Reading Club for school-age children, will feature a Build a Better World theme. Weekly programs, which will be held in the Aurora Community Theatre next to the library, will take place at 1:30 p.m. June 6 through July 11. Parents and caregivers can sign children up by phone, but should pick up a starter pack, which includes a daily reading log, at the library prior to the first program.
A summer reading program for young adults in grades 5 through 12 will feature weekly prize drawings starting June 5. To enter, teens must read a book, magazine or graphic novel, and rate it on a scale of 1-5 stars. A special program for teens will be held on June 16, with program details to follow. Students ages 10 and up may also apply to be a volunteer to assist with children's programs.
