Portage County Job & Family Services will host the 2017 Senior Forum from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. June 22 at Maplewood Career Center, 7075 S.R. 88 in Ravenna.
The event will feature information tables, door prizes, health screenings and a free lunch.
There will also be several free workshops available to attendees: From 9 to 10 a.m., JFS representatives will be on hand to speak about medicaid updates. From 10:15 to 10:45 a.m. representatives from the Portage County Mental Health and Recovery Board will be available for pain medications and disposal of unused medications. From 11 a.m. to noon, a presentation on senior scams will be hosted by the Ohio Attorney General's office. From 12:45 to 1:15 p.m., a presentation from the Hospice of Western Reserve will touch on the topic of communicating with loved ones. From 1:30 to 2 p.m. University's Hospital's Love on a Leash program will make an appearance.
