The Brimfield Police Department is inviting the public to a "Paper Recycling and Shredding Day" from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday in the police department parking lot at 1287 Tallmadge Road. Newspapers, junk mail, envelopes, phone books, magazines, catalogs and office paper will be collected at the department's River Valley Paper Company recycling bins. The department's DARE anti-drug program will receive money from the company based on the weight of the collected paper. As a bonus for helping the "DARE to Recycle Program" and to help citizens prevent identity theft, the department and two sponsoring township business have arranged to have a Neoshred truck in the lot at the same time. Neoshred will shred up to five grocery bags of confidential or personal papers per person, with volunteers on hand to unload vehicles. The Neoshred truck is sponsored in part by Hometown Bank, 4023 S.R. 43 in Brimfield, and RJ's Auto Pros, 310 Tallmadge Road. From left are Ralph and Mary Johnson, owners of RJ's Auto Pros; Vickie Reed, branch manager of Hometown Bank; and Brimfield Police Chief Roy Mosley III.
