The city of Ravenna will complete its annual community cleanup on the next two Saturdays.
Items will be picked up on Saturday for Ward 3 (south of Main and west of Chestnut) and June 17 for Ward 4 (south of Main and east of Chestnut.) Also on Saturday, the city will host its tire drop off and shredding event. The event takes place from 8 a.m. to noon at the street department site at 701 Oakwood St.
Residents should place items small enough to be handled by two people at the curb, no earlier than four days prior to their scheduled pickup date. Accepted items include furniture, electronics, toys, bikes, carpet and mattresses. Scrap metal should be placed in a pile with appliances. Building material will be collected in small amounts if it is contained for easy handling.
Prohibited items include household garbage, tires and batteries, large quantities of construction material, bricks, blocks, concrete or railroad ties, chemicals, paint or material containing asbestos.
