Kent police continue to search for a 6-foot-tall male suspect armed with handgun and wearing a dark-colored hoodie after a robbery Friday morning.
Numerous officers and Kent EMS were called to the Ohio Auto Loan at 1180 W. Main St. at about 11:30 a.m. after the store manager reported being robbed, Kent Police Lt. Mike Lewis said.
Officers planned to review surveillance video from Ohio Auto Loan and other area businesses to see if the suspect was caught on tape, Lewis said.
According to Kent police, a man wearing a red-colored mask entered the business and robbed an employee, taking an undisclosed amount of cash.
Police said the man then left the building and entered a waiting vehicle with a second, unidentified suspect. The vehicle is believed to be a gray 4-door, possibly a Chevrolet.
Officers were seen checking the parking lot and the surrounding area. One officer was carrying his rifle.
Portage County Sheriff's Office K-9 Felon assisted with tracking suspect, with no success.
An ambulance left without its lights and sirens activated.
Anyone with any information is asked to call the Kent police non-emergency line at 330-673-7732.
