Portage County Job & Family Services will host its third annual Senior Forum from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. June 22, at Maplewood Career Center, located at 7075 S.R. 88 in Ravenna.
The Senior Forum is free and open to anyone who is interested in learning more about what the community has to offer to elderly residents of Portage County.
Participants can visit informational booths that present a variety of community resources. There will also be free workshops including: Medicaid Updates presented by Portage County Job & Family Services from 9:30 to 10 a.m., Pain Medications and Disposal of Unused Medication presented by The Mental Health and Recovery Board from 10:15 to 10:45 a.m., Senior Scams presented by the Ohio Attorney General from 11 a.m. to noon, Companion Animals presented by University Hospital Love on a Leash from 1:30 to 2 p.m., and Communication with Loved Ones presented by Hospice of Western Reserve from 12:45 to 1:15 p.m.
A free lunch from Jimmy Johns of Streetsboro will be available along with free blood pressure screenings from University Hospitals Portage Medical Center and door prizes from the various community agencies.
