S.R. 43 work among road projects set

There are several new construction projects beginning in Portage County.

■ Along S.R. 43 in Brimfield and Suffield, the following locations have various nightly lane restrictions between 7 p.m. and 6 a.m. for bridge deck sealing through Wednesday morning: S.R. 43 over Interstate 76 and I-76 under S.R. 43 until further notice.

■ S.R. 43 between the Stark County line to just south of Tallmadge Road and between I-76 to Brimfield Drive will have various daily lane restrictions for resurfacing and bridge repairs.

This work is part of $2.1 million project to resurface S.R. 43 and is expected to be completed by August.

■ S.R. 261 in Kent eastbound between Franklin Avenue and Mogadore Road is now open. S.R. 261 just east of Mogadore Road will continue to have various lane restrictions for minor bridge repairs.

This work is part of a $1.8 million project to make bridge repairs to the S.R. 261 bridge over Plum Creek, just east of Mogadore Road. The entire project is scheduled to be complete by late September.

■ In Summit County today, S.R. 8 in Hudson both north- and southbound will have lane restrictions between S.R. 303 and Seasons Road for pavement repairs. These restrictions will be in place between 7 a.m. and 2 p.m.
