Streetsboro High School's Class of 2017 officially graduated in a 90-minute ceremony at Akron Civic Theatre on May 30.

Kicking off the ceremony with a rendition of the National Anthem was Racquel Hubbard, one of the graduating seniors.

Speeches by students and administrators mixed light-hearted anecdotes and thoughtful discussions of high school and life beyond.

Streetsboro High School Principal James Hogue served as emcee of the event, introducing Senior Class President Sidney Grimm, Salutatorian Kateryna Shcherban, Assistant Superintendent Aireane Curtis (Superintendent Michael Daulbaugh was attending a graduation of one of his own family members May 30) and Valedictorian Kayla Flick.

After all the seniors, who filled the first five or six rows of the theater, received their diplomas, they all tossed their mortar boards in the air in celebration.
