Todd Schumacher of Carolina Carports, Inc. recently dedicated a picnic shelter he and his company donated and constructed at the Portage County Randolph Fairgrounds. The shelter replaces a tent that was used during the fair in the amusement ride area to give patrons and their families a place to be out of the elements. The picnic shelter is dedicated to the "4-H community of Portage County and especially the Jay Campbell and Harold Mansfield families" because of their "decades of devotion to 4-H, the values they instill, and the young lives they shape." Helping dedicate the shelter were, front row from left, Stan Wojciechowski, Debi Heppe, Don Garretson, Tracey Koszalka, Harold Mansfield, Todd Schumacher, Jay Campbell, Kendrick Campbell and Mackenzie Campbell; and back row from left, Sharon Eldreth, Rick May, Tim Fear, Chet Wiley, Jim May, Chris Campbell, Chuck Campbell, Lucas Campbell, Kristy Campbell and Logan Campbell. This year's fair is Aug. 22 to 27.
