The state has approved more than $142,000 for a renovation project at the Northeast Ohio Medical University in Rootstown, State Rep. Kathleen Clyde (D-Kent) announced Monday.

The funds will go toward a campuswide project to weatherproof and restore outside masonry on much of NEOMED's original structures. The renovations will remove decades of wear and tear and help to extend the lives of the buildings at the Rootstown campus.

"This project will extend the life of the buildings at NEOMED and give the next generation of healthcare professionals the facilities they need to work, learn and develop the skills to keep Ohio communities healthy," Clyde said.
