A warrant has been issued for the arrest of a Ravenna man suspected of stabbing a Ravenna Township man last week.

On Tuesday, Ravenna police announced Anthony D. Lewis, 30, with a last known address of 623 S. Prospect St., is wanted on a warrant charging him with felonious assault, a second-degree felony, for an incident on West Locust Lane early Thursday morning.

Capt. David Rarrick said officers responding to another call at 1:42 a.m. Thursday were approached by a 26-year-old Cleveland Road man who said he had been stabbed after being "in some type of altercation."

The alleged victim was hospitalized for injuries that were not considered life-threatening, and was interviewed several times by police, he said. Within 10 hours of the incident, officers obtained a probable cause warrant for Lewis' arrest, Rarrick said.

Rarrick wouldn't comment on a motive for the altercation or stabbing, saying it was part of the investigation. He urged anyone who knows where Lewis is to call the Ravenna Police Department at 330-296-6486.

"We would appreciate any information on Lewis' location," as well as any information from people who may have witnessed the incident, Rarrick said.
