If you're looking to celebrate Independence Day with fireworks, you won't have to look very far to find an event that fits the bill.
Your first opportunity to see fireworks will be tonight at Kent's Heritage Festival, which begins at 9 a.m. in downtown Kent and runs until 11 p.m. Fireworks start at 10 p.m.
The free event features more than 100 vendors, a classic car show, food and entertainment on three stages.
Other communities will offer fireworks on July 3 and 4.
Streetsboro: July 3, 9:45 p.m., Woodside Lake Park, $5 per car to enter park.
Aurora: July 4, 9:45 p.m., ballfields adjacent to Aurora Cemetery on north side of West Pioneer Trail
Hiram: July 3, 9:30 p.m., Hiram College football field, donations requested.
Akron: July 4, downtown Akron, in conjunction with the Rib White and Blue Festival. Akron Symphony performs at 8 p.m., fireworks start at 9:45 p.m.
Cuyahoga Falls: July 3 and 4, Blossom Music Center, 8 p.m., in conjunction with The Cleveland Orchestra's annual Independence Day themed concert. Blossom is at 1145 W Steels Corners Road.
Fairlawn: July 4, Bicentennial Park, 3486 South Smith Road, Fireworks begin about 10:00 pm. Fireworks may go off anytime between 7:30 and 10:30, weather permitting. Evening also includes two bands before the fireworks. Parade at 4:30 p.m.Hudson: July 1, dusk, at Barlow Farm Park, 1965 Barlow Road. Rain date July 2.
Twinsburg: Cleveland Pops & Fireworks at Rock the Park, July 3, 7-11 p.m., Perici Amphitheatre, Glen Chamberlin Park, 10260 Ravenna Road, in conjunction with the Cleveland Pops Orchestra performance (this is a ticketed event).
Solon: July 4, Solon Community Park, 6679 SOM Center Road, at dusk
Cleveland: July 4, Light Up the Lake, July 4, sundown, at Flats East Bank in downtown Cleveland
Newton Falls: July 4, 10 p.m. Festival June 30 through July 4.
