Federal prosecutors have charged a Randolph man with alleged sexual exploitation of a child and distributing child pornography for incidents dating back to January 2014.

Thomas D. Brown, 40, with a last known address on Bassett Road, was indicted last week according to the office of Acting U.S. Attorney David A. Sierleja of the Northern District of Ohio, following an investigation by the FBI and the Canton Police Department.

Brown allegedly "used, persuaded, enticed and coerced a minor to engage in sexually explicit conduct" and created either videos or photo of the activity, according to the U.S. Attorney's Office. This happened between Jan. 1, 2014, and Dec. 31, 2015, and again between June 1, 2016, and May 22 this year, according to his indictment.

Brown also received and distributed numerous computer files containing child pornography between May 4 and May 9, according to his indictment. On May 12, he allegedly possessed a computer, a flash drive and an SD card containing child pornography, authorities allege.
