The annual Stow Fourth of July parade, sponsored by the city of Stow Parks and Recreation Department and the Kiwanis Club of Stow-Munroe Falls, will step off at 10 a.m. from the Stow-Kent shopping center on Kent Road (Ohio 59) and proceed west to Park Drive, just beyond Holy Family School. The 2017 Stow Fourth of July parade theme is "Salute to Veterans." This year's grand marshals will be "All Who Served."
The parade will leave Stow-Kent shopping center and proceed west through the Kent and Darrow roads intersection, ending at Park Drive, just beyond Holy Family School. Close to 120 units are expected to participate,
The Stow Commission on Inclusion has arranged parking for those with a handicap placard at 3435 Kent Road, on the east side of Williamson Road. There will be no entrance to the inside of the building and the parking slots will be clearly marked.
The annual Stow Firecracker Run will begin at Holy Family Church at 7:30 a.m. Runners will go east to the shopping center, then back to the church.
Start your Fourth of July early and head to the annual pancake breakfast at First Christian Church from 710 a.m. The church is located at the intersection of Kent and Darrow roads
The Firecracker Run and the parade will result in some road closures.
Kent Road (Ohio 59) will be closed from Marsh Road to Englewood Drive and Darrow Road (Ohio 91) will be closed from Graham Road in Stow to Pinehurst Road in Munroe Falls from 7:15 to 8:30 a.m. for the Firecracker Run and then from 9:30 a.m. to noon for the parade.
Employees of businesses that are open should plan a route that does not cross Kent Road during the stated times that roads are closed.
