Sheriff's deputies have arrested a 22-year-old Freedom Township man and accused him of shooting at another man during a confrontation in Ravenna Township last month.

William D. Calhoun Jr., of 6466 Streeter Road, was arrested Wednesday night and charged with felonious assault, a second-degree felony. He was scheduled to be arraigned Thursday in Portage County Municipal Court in Ravenna, according to court records.

According to a criminal complaint, on June 8 Calhoun allegedly pulled a gun on a 43-year-old Terrill Street man during a fight in the 6500 block of Terrill Street and fired a single shot at him. The shot missed its intended target, according to the sheriff's office.

Ravenna police and sheriff’s deputies searched for Calhoun on June 8 and June 9, but could provide no information on the incident at the time.
