The death of a 2-year-old girl struck and killed by a minivan last month in Ravenna remains under investigation.
Ravenna police Capt. David Rarrick said investigators from his department and the Ohio State Highway Patrol are meeting next week to conduct more tests at the scene on South Diamond Street where Karli Rubes was struck and killed on June 14.
Once the investigation is complete, the results will be forwarded to the Portage County Prosecutor's Office for consideration of charges, he said.
Karli's mother told a 911 dispatcher on June 14 that she was taking out the trash when Karli ran into the road outside their home. A passing minivan struck her, and she was transported to University Hospitals Portage Medical Center, where she died the same day.
The minivan driver stopped and cooperated with investigators, Rarrick said at the time.
