The City of Akron's Water Distribution Division began flushing water mains in Mogadore starting Wednesday, and will move on to other Summit County communities in the coming weeks.
Hydrants in Mogadore will be flowed from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. Sunday through Thursday nights, according to the Mogadore Fire Department. The program will help increase water quality and flow for firefighting purposes.
Discolored water is likely to appear, so water customers are urged to check their cold water for discoloration prior to cooking, using automatic clothes washers and dishwashers. If water appears cloudy or discolored, don't use it until it runs clear.
Questions may be directed to 330-375-2554, where you can select "Frequently Asked Questions" and follow the prompts, according to the Mogadore Fire Department.
