The Portage County Sheriff’s Office arrested a man Thursday for allegedly robbing and knocking down an 87-year-old Nelson woman, who suffered a broken hip.
David A. Warner, 29, of 11511 S.R. 88 in Nelson, has been arrested and charged with aggravated robbery following the investigation of a home invasion in the 11200 block of S.R. 88, according to the sheriff’s office.
According to the sheriff, Warner allegedly knocked down 87-year-old Dorothy Bailey when she answered the door to her home. He then allegedly proceeded to take an undisclosed amount of money from Bailey’s purse.
Warner is currently being held at the Portage County jail without bond. He will be arraigned on Friday at 1:15 p.m. in the Portage County Court of Common Pleas.
