Tears of joy and long overdue sighs of relief filled a Portage County courtroom Wednesday after Randy Resh was found not guilty in the 8 murder of Connie Nardi.
"I never thought this day would come," said a tearful Resh, 43, as ecstatic friends and family celebrated in Judge Laurie Pittman’s courtroom of Portage County Common Pleas Court.
As soon as Pittman dismissed the jurors and left the bench, Resh picked up a cell phone and called his lifelong friend, Robert Gondor also charged in the murder and set to face retrial on May 14 to tell him the news.
"He said we did a good job," Resh said after he hung up the phone.
Traci Grimm, Resh’s ex-wife, said she felt "wonderful" after each verdict was read by the jury foreman not guilty to the charge of attempted rape; not guilty to the charge of murder; and not guilty to the lesser included offense of manslaughter.
"This has been a long time coming 16 and a half years," said Resh’s mother, Eleanor Resh.
Soon after exiting the Portage County courthouse, Resh bent down and pulled up his pant leg to reveal an electronic monitoring bracelet. A relative handed him a pair of wire cutters and soon, the bracelet, a condition of his January release on bond, was coming off. Resh then walked across the street to the Portage County Adult Probation Department and turned the bracelet in.
Meeting back outside with family members, Resh smiled as one person after another gave congratulatory hugs. Asked what his next move would be, Resh grabbed at his necktie.
"I’m gonna go home and change and go to Bob’s house," he said.

Thanks to a great defense team and their investigators!!! Thanks to the jury that paid attention to the facts in the case. They had to sort threw the BULL SHIT and muddy waters the Prosecutor threw in. Everyone notice they changed Busta's testimony on how she was strangled. Ten fingers around her neck Busta said. Corner said NO WAY!! so Prosecutor in Closing arguments changed how she was killed!! HOW can he change the manner in which his own witness Busta said she was murdered. That shows you the Prosecutor Victor V. Vigluicci and Buchanan knows they had the wronge men.
Will Vigluicci do the wright thing I won't hold my breath they have never done the wright thing in this case.

Nardi Family still don't know what happened to their daughter, mother, sister. They know she wasn't murder as Busta said. They now know Vigluicci and Buchanan has lied to them for years about what happened to her. They know Busta lied threw his teeth and no matter how nice Mrs Busta wants to be to them her son knows what happened to their daughter and the only way they will ever now is if Troy Busta ever figures out how to TELL THE TRUTH. At this point Busta has nothing to loose his lies are now worth nothing the world knows and see's threw his lies. If the Busta want to be kind to Mrs. Nardi you would stop all the lies you have nothing to protect now it's all out so MRS. BUSTA do the wright thing, TELL YOUR SON TO TELL THE TRUTH how did she really die. Let Connie Nardi rest in peace. Let her family be able to move forward and put this behind them. Let them have closure on the horrendous, travesty their family was thrust into when Connie meet your son Troy and he ended her life .
BUSTA DO THE RIGHT THING FOR ONCE FOR SOMEONE ELSE .
Give the Nardi's the peace end there suffering!!!

Praise God for His mercy and grace!

I am grateful for the jury giving Randy his life back. As June said above, "One down, one to go." We cannot count on Portage County to do the right thing, so if needed, we will continue to fight for Bob's freedom.

All the corruption in Portage County couldn't keep the truth from coming out.

To many out there that contributed to the wrongful incarcerations of Bob and Randy - Troy Busta, the Busta family, the prosecutions, Ron Craig, David Easthon, Grendells, Joey Moore, David Norris and many others (you know who you are) I pray that you will ask God to forgive you for your part in this travesty. If you have one ounce of humility, you will ask Bob and Randy for their forgiveness and the family of Connie Nardi.

They get their reputation and life back in an out of court settlement with Portage Court. They have a right to sue. Portage County should save the $ 500,000 for the next trail and give it to these (2) guys for 16 yrs behind bars.

Finally, justice is served. Now, that this case is over, the portage county prosecutor team, should release Mr. Gondor because the end results will be the same in his trial.

Save the taxpayers of Portage County some bucks. Drop the charges and let's get on with it. The jury has spoken.

Maybe the great detective Easthorn should help with that!

Finally! Justice has been done - 16 years too late - for Randy Resh. Thank God for the common sense of the jurors in this trial to confirm what any intelligent person in this county already knew.
