BRIMFIELD -- Police have found no evidence of foul play so far in the Sunday death of a 23-year-old man at a home in the 800 block of Sandy Lake Road.

Dante Susco, 23, was pronounced dead after emergency workers were called at 9:26 a.m. Sunday for a report of an unresponsive male.

Brimfield Police Chief David Blough said the investigation so far has revealed that a party apparently had been held at the home Saturday night for Susco's birthday.

Witnesses told police Susco went to sleep around 2:30 a.m., and was last known to be OK and breathing around 4 or 4:30 a.m., Blough said.

A large amount of alcohol was discovered at the scene, including beer, vodka, rum and Jagermeister, as well as some hydrocodone (Vicodin) pills, Blough said.

"All indications right now are that it's an alcohol-related death, but we're waiting for toxicology results to see if any drugs were involved," he said.

An autopsy is being performed by the Summit County Medical Examiner's Office, he said.

Brimfield police are continuing to investigate the incident, and it could be several weeks before toxicology test results are returned.

The article wasn't the problem. The article being printed on the front page on the day of his calling hours is in poor taste. You've completely missed the point.

And countless man-hours? I bet I could count them. They sent four people over there for three hours. So my count is 12 man-hours.

What do you want the newspaper to do? Hide it? Cover it up? Pretend like it never happened?

When the police find a dead man in a home, people in the community will want to know why he is dead. Was he murdered? Is there a public safety risk loose in the community?

Letting the residents know the true cause of death is responsible journalism. With all of the crimes (INCLUDING murders) that have occurred in Brimfield, the people have the right to know the outcome of an investigation.

It is a tragic death, one that certainly could have been avoided. However, since the PUBLIC services (police, fire, EMS, cororner's office, etc.) were all tied up dealing with an avoidable, self-initiated incident, putting in countless man-hours of work, the public has the right to know what the outcome of the investigation is.

My heart certainly goes out to the family. I'm sure all of his loved ones would want any other potential victim to learn from this young man's mistakes. Saving another person from another avoidable, senseless death should be worth the paper it is printed on.

Dante worked hard and played hard. I don't know a single person that hasn't had a few too many and got sick. He wasn't out drinking and driving like many of you hypocrites do. He was at his own house having drinks with friends. (hence, the reason his family wasnt around, you ignorant ass)

And who are Ped? I am a friend of this young man, a true friend. I wasn't there that night and even if I was Dante did what he wanted to do he was a grown man, I wouldn't have been able to stop him and neither could any one eles. This was a tragic accicdent that everyone who knew and loved him will hurt from for years to come. And of course the RC would run a bull crap article about it. You weren't invited to his birthday party so it wasn't any of your buisness what they were drinking or anything eles for that matter. Mind your own buisness, or just sit there at your mundane job a post about people lives that you know nothing about. Pass judgement on people you have never met and maybe on day something will rip your heart out and someone can sit around a type about how you weren't a true friend.

Who were his FRIENDS that he was drinking with. I wish to never have friends like that.

My sympathies to his family and his TRUE friends.

I agree with Concerned2~ although at this point I'll leave the religious quotes out of it with the except to say that my take on it was that one should think before you do something to hurt someone.
I too am saddened by the RC having to put something like this on the front page on the day of this young mans memorial service. Interesting to note that the RC accepted payment and proudly ran his obit the last two days. Must have been a conflict to have a negative article published on the page prior to the words that were a memorial to his life.
A parent never expects a child to pass prior to their own passing and when it does occur I can only imagine it's devestating. The parents and family of this young man have lived in the community for many many years and for the RC to proudly display this article on the front page on this very day is in poor taste.
And to unknown2u I don't understand even with religion removed how you aren't offended but the publishing of this. Wouldn't it have been nicer and in a better spirit to pay tribute to a life lost instead of offering up speculation such as this article did. Regardless the clock can't be turned back let this family have peace during this emotional time in their life. They just lost a son have you no empathy? or is that piece of news so important to everyones day?
My thoughts (positive) go out to the family of Dante as well as his many friends.

It's called a public paper and the news. The RC is doing its job when it informs their readers of what is going on in their city and world. I am offended also, not by this article that was provided by the RC, but by your response. The fact that you mention your relious views are more offending to me than this article is to you. If the name of this paper was "Religious Record" or anything of that matter, then your response would be acceptable. But its not. Keep your quoting of fictitous people to yourself!

I Corinthian 1:3-4 "Blessed be God,even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies, and the God of all comfort. Who comforteth us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort them which are in any trouble, by the comfort wherewith we ourselves are comforted of God."

I sit here deeply disturbed after just having read this article, and wondering to myself, What possible purpose does it serve to the readers of the RC? How could it bring any comfort to the family and friends of this young man on the VERY DAY that they are left with the daunting task of holding memorial services and saying there last goodbyes? Is it's content so very important that it must be printed today, and not perhaps next week? Or maybe for that matter, not at all?

A mother & father have lost thier son, it should not matter how & why to the general public. Instead of compounding thier horrific grief, we should be holding them up in prayer, asking God to bring them comfort in the midst of thier dispair, as well as sending the message to the RC and it's staff writers that a little common sense and good judgement goes a long way.
