Former Brimfield resident Jennifer Thomas won the Rachael Ray Show's "So You Think You Can Cook!?" challenge.
Thomas, who lives in Cuyahoga Falls, will prepare her own recipe on the Dec. 5 show with Ray as her personal sous chef.
On Monday, Thomas beat out Martica De Torres of Los Angeles in the final competition that pitted the two against each other to see who could serve the best snacks for celebrity taster Marcia Cross of "Desperate Housewives."
"I have always said that anyone can be "Rachael Ray' and we started this contest to prove just that," said Ray in a statement issued by her show. "Once Jenn forgot to be nervous she kept knocking it out of the park and that is why she was ultimately the winner."
Thomas will attend a "boot camp" training program at the Culinary Institute of America and have her original recipes published in Ray's magazine, Every Day with Rachael Ray.
Thomas is a bartender at Flemings Prime Steakhouse and a floral designer at The Window Box Florist in Brimfield.
