BRIMFIELD -- Although gas prices have come down somewhat since the summer months when they peaked at about $3.50 per gallon, a local group still is waging war against the three major oil companies Exxon/Mobile, Texaco and Shell.

Believing gas prices at the pumps is a result of the lack of competition among the oil companies, Dan Compton started the group FUEL -- "Fed Up Energy League."

Currently, there are almost 1,000 members in the group. "We need about a million members before we can boycott," Compton said.

He said FUEL's goal is to force competition back into the industry by continuing not to buy from one major oil company until they significantly lower prices.
