ALLIANCE -- Four Portage County residents were among six people arrested in connection with a suspected methamphetamine ring operating between the Stark County city and Atwater in Portage County.

Capt. Scott Griffith, special operations commander of the Alliance Police Department, and Portage County Sheriff Duane Kaley said the arrests stemmed from a joint investigation which discovered a meth lab in an Alliance apartment Thursday.

Arrested in connection with the case were John P. Thomas, 22, of Atwater; Tom McCambridge, 23, of 760 Industry Road, Atwater; Allaura Massrock, 22, of 1879 Mahoning Road, Deerfield; Adam Pifer, of 832 Porter Road, Atwater; Eric McCambridge, 22, of Alliance; and Elias Gabler, 22, of Alliance.

According to Kaley, agents from the Portage County Drug Task Force had received information about a possible methamphetamine ring operating between an Atwater residence and a residence in the 200 block of North Union Avenue in Alliance.

Agents had been conducting surveillance at the Atwater residence, Kaley said, when more information was received indicating a group of suspects involved in the alleged meth ring would be going to an Alliance apartment on Thursday.

Kaley said the task force agents began working with Alliance police, and set up surveillance outside the North Union Avenue apartment, where Eric McCambridge resides.

"We were sitting there waiting for them with Alliance police when they showed up," Kaley said of the suspects.

Police searched the upstairs apartment and located a working meth lab inside a large closet, Griffith said. He said police believe Thomas was at the head of the alleged ring and worked with the others to obtain supplies for cooking methamphetamine.

Thomas was arrested on a charge of illegal manufacturing of methamphetamine, a second-degree felony, as well as two outstanding warrants through Alliance Municipal Court for failure to appear on two prior drug charges.

Tom McCambridge also was charged with illegal manufacturing of methamphetamine while Eric McCambridge and Pifer were charged with complicity to illegal manufacturing of methamphetamine, also second-degree felonies.

Two visitors to the apartment, Massrock and Gabler, each were charged with one count of being present in a place where a controlled substance is being used and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Kaley said Thursday information from the task force would be forwarded to the Portage County Prosecutor's Office for consideration of charges in Portage County.

The Portage County Drug Task Force consists of the Portage County Sheriff's Office, the Portage County Prosecutor's Office, and officers from the Aurora, Brimfield, Kent, Ravenna and Streetsboro police departments.

Your writing is frought with anger, self loathing and hatred for anyone who does not agree with you. A quick look back through this website clearly shows that to anyone with reasonable intellegence.

My honest perception is that you are a weak and slithering aggitater who doesent like it because someone calls you what you are. I don't blame you though. You are weak in intellegent thought, open mindness and reasonable behavior.

You have the arrogance to call what you write on this website courage? That is a complete farce and an oughtright lie. No one with even half a brain could look at the filth and mis-information you spew and call that courage.

But since you are the prince of "intellegent information" "courage" and "intellegent expression" why don't you humor everyone and bestow upon us your solution to the drug problem in the world exhalted rageman???

Some people fish, some can only cut bait. Keep cutting bait, Queszy! But it's just water off a duck's back. I thought childish "button pushing" went out in the 80's. Appears that your stunted emotional growth has trapped you in the past.

Again, no offering of intelligent information or opinion to the article topic or the topical content of anyone's comment from you, just punky, smarmy, little cheap shots. Baiting, from the distant sidelines.

But empty headed little cowards like you need that safe, distant, dark Limbo of topical non-engagement, of "no informative, relevant comment offered" to hide within, from which you can bait your target and fire your juvenile cheap shots.

Like a cowardly sniper. No intelligent expression ..so nothing worthwhile for anyone to aim at to return fire. The back-biting cowards way.

Anyone can do it if they're willing to lower themselves to your level. You see, it takes courage to put one's views and opinions out into the public domain and risk having them be criticised. But you have no such courage ..so in your cowardice and boorish stupidity, you can only do the cheap childish thing you do.

With ignorant, infantile little cowards like you, there's only one way for your target to win your juvenile baiting game ...and that's to simply not play.

I'm not going to lower myself to your sleazy level so, bait away. From here on out, your empty, sophomoric, smarmy jabs are falling on deaf ears. You're just not interesting enough to be worth my time and energy or receive any more of my attention.

Try again sometime though ..if you ever find the courage or ability to take "the Big Chance" and openly express an intelligent, informed relevant opinion on a topic of discussion in this forum. But that will probably never happen. Requires an intelligent brain and courage. You clearly have neither.
