To Lt. Jason Boivin and Lt. Ryan Leifheit, great work!!
I'm a little confused though. "The teen took a small boat.." How small, what kind, motor or row? "..heavy winds that blew his boat almost two miles to the NORTH.." "The [rescue] boat was put in the water at the public launch at the Bedell Road campgrounds." ..not at Mill Creek? Is Mill Creek where the teen entered the water? If the wind was blowing north and the rescue team had "..to make their way BACK to the launch site against they heavy gusting wind and large wind-driven waves.." doesn't that mean that the rescue team had to approach the teen's boat from behind or "in the wake" of the path his boat traveled and therefore, "with the wind"? "Lt. Jason Boivin and Lt. Ryan Leifheit were able to make their way through the ice-covered water using the bow of the boat to break the ice (to reach the victim)." My question is, how did the victims boat traverse the ice that the rescuers had to "break through"? How did the teen's boat get across this ice that the rescuers had to break through? I'm confused. I hope the next hat this kid buys has a chinstrap!! Oh well, all's well that ends well ,I always say! And now, the obligatory bit of HUMOR. (It's OK to laugh!) Is any hat worth the price of the life of the person who own it or the lives of the Brave Rescuers? I think not, but thank God everyone is safe today! Good Job to the rescue crews.
