ROOTSTOWN " The Portage County Sheriff's Department is searching for two masked men who robbed the McDonald's restaurant at the corner of Lynn Road and S.R. 44 at gunpoint Wednesday.
Sheriff Duane Kaley said the men entered the store at approximately 7:40 p.m. One of the men reportedly brandished a semi-automatic hand gun at workers, demanding money from the cash register.
The men then fled on foot, Kaley said, disappearing into the woods north of Lynn Road.
Kaley said deputies responded within five minutes, and a K-9 unit was dispatched, following the robbers' trail until the scent was lost north of Lynn Road.
The men were described as black males, one approximately 6-foot-2 and 150 lbs., and the other at approximately 5-foot-8 and 200 lbs.
The amount of money taken was not disclosed.
No one was injured in the robbery, but one of the witnesses became faint and was treated at the scene by paramedics.
Kaley said this is the first time the McDonald's on Lynn Road had been robbed.

I agree with the person that doesn't blame the robbery on the economy.
Your average Joe would not rob someone at gunpoint because they couldn't afford gas..etc.
I think that the men who did this have no respect for anyone including themselves and are probably drug addicts.

Well my daughter and niece work at that mcdonalds. I believe number 1 its broken homes, no supervision, and now to make it worse it is the economy. what is the government thinking letting these oil companies rape the public like they are. The government could put a stop to it, but they are getting richer also. While the working class families are struggling to buy gas to get to work, and to buy food. What a sad, sad country we are....... I hope they catch these 2 guys, I pitty the person that would hurt my daughter or niece..............

I think its funny you people blame the economy for the robbery. Its called lazy thugs that don't want to work, typically a Black Male committing the crime and they have been doing this for years. Teach these people some manners and raise them in a 2 parent home with some morals and maybe there is hope. Voting for Hillary or Obama is not the answer.

The response time was under 5 min. and a K-9 unit was brought to the scene so I dont think the sheriff dept. is the issue this time. The economy sucks! and we have a HUGE drug problem in the NEO area. your really not safe in any kind of business when you deal with people. its just the way things are now, and it goes to the parents who dont dicipline their kids, give them what they want, let them go at free will, and dont teach them the difference from right and wrong. It gives some of these kids the Im god .. gimme gimme instead of work for what you want! Its sad that they were robbed, and i hope they catch them.
