BRIMFIELD "The Ravenna Post of the Ohio Highway Patrol is investigating a crash Monday on Lynn Road that killed a 41-year-old Brimfield man.
Ronald O. Starks, of Lawndale Drive, was transported from the scene of the crash to Akron City Hospital by the Brimfield Fire Department. Starks was pronounced dead at the hospital a short time later.
The crash, which occurred shortly before 2 p.m., involved a motorcycle driven by Starks and a pick-up truck. The driver of the truck, Jason C. Arana, 37, of Meloy Road in Brimfield, was not injured in the crash, nor was a toddler that was a passenger in his vehicle.
According to the patrol, the crash occurred in the 1800 block of Lynn Road, southeast of Sherman Road.
The patrol said a preliminary investigation shows Starks was traveling northwest on Lynn Road at what witnesses said was a "high rate of speed." Arana was traveling southeast on Lynn Road in the pick-up when he attempted to make a left turn into a residential driveway. As he turned, the patrol said, his truck collided head on with Starks' motorcycle.
Starks was ejected from the bike as it veered off the right side of the roadway and entered an area of thick overgrowth.
Brimfield fire officials, as well as Brimfield police, responded to the scene with the patrol.
The patrol said Starks was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash. Also, the patrol said, Arana was wearing a seat belt and the toddler in his vehicle was properly buckled into a child safety seat.
The crash remains under investigation at this time and no charges have been filed.
This is the 10th fatal crash in Portage County in 2008 and the third traffic fatality this year involving a motorcycle.

My prayers go out to both families involved in this accident. At a time when both families are hurting the last thing you need is someone quoting scripture and passing judgment in a negative form. Jesus's life was built of love and compassion for others.
Out of the heart the mouth speaks. One cannot speak hateful words towards others and love God. I pray that in this sad time people would show the compassion and love that Jesus has showed all of us. Some of the comments on this blog is the reason why people stay away from church and so called Christians. To follow Christ is to show mercy, love, and compassion for others. To call yourself a Christian means to be Christ -Like.
Again I send my deepest condolences to both of these families in there time of loss and pain.

Sorry for the loss of your friend. Too bad some guy turned left in front of his bike. Old Story, same result. Another biker killed cause they could not be seen by the operator of an automobile.
I loved to ride my Harley, but I knew it could be a death machine.
No matter how mad you get, you can do nothing to shut up comments on this media. Whether or not YOU ar NOT gonna take it, there is little you can do.
Best thing, do not even read these blogs. They can be intense.
Sorry for the Starks family.

I never really knew what it would feel like to be one of those friends who read these disgusting words spoken about someone you knew until today!!!! What is wrong with you people???? Do you live such a horrible dull life that all you can be is a nasty, heartless person??? A person died yesterday. A really good person, and not a one of you on here know anything about what happened other then reading it in a paper with phrases such as "witnesses said". But you don't even know the half of that. The only person who knows is not with us. Trust that, know that, and shut up!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I will not allow his name to be dragged through the mud, for his friends, family, and co-workers sake. So just know that Ron was a well known man, and there are a lot of people that will have his back since he can't. So honestly, the best advice I can give to you negative, hurtful people is....SHUT UP!! Because you know what...tomorrow...it could be you!!!!

I would like to extend my deepest sympathies to the family of Ron Starks. I will keep all of you in my prayers. To Roxanne, Shanea, Shamone & Shane: I will keep you in my prayers and I know that God will get you through this time of deep sorrow. I was truly saddened to read this article this evening, and I am sickened to see the rude comments that have been posted. I wish that people would take into consideration the feelings of the family members, friends, co-workers, etc. of Ron, and try to think how you would feel if this was your loved one that was killed. It doesn't matter who was at fault. What matters is that Ron has passed away and has left many loved ones behind to grieve this loss for many days to come. Please try to be respectful and keep your harsh comments to yourself. May God bless all of Ron's family members, friends, co-workers, and Roxanne, Shane, Shanea & Shamone in this difficult time.

You should really be careful what you say...
Because "the judge had already made judgement" on you as well. God in his great wisdom will also cast judgement upon you for your words and actions...and I do not believe this is how He intended us to show compassion on those who are hurting. Maybe you should read your Bible some more.
To the family, I will be praying for you, that God will see you through this difficult time. Just reach out and take His hand and He will guide you.

simplematter, I am sure the family is already going through enough and does not need people like you making these inappropriate comments.

The judge has already made judgement, it is on the record.
Get your bible thing correct..... No judgement, facts speak for themselves, by your words one can judge all they want and not be judged by others..... "Judge and you shall NOT be judged!" are your words.
