A Streetsboro man was arrested Saturday on felony charges of kidnapping, felonious assault and aggravated robbery after leading police on a car and then a foot chase.
The charges against Nicholas Trusnik, 19, of 9512 Ellen Drive, stem from an unknown incident that occurred in Ravenna Saturday.
Ravenna police notified Streetsboro police at 4:59 p.m. that Trusnik was wanted and had fled toward Streetsboro.
Streetsboro police saw Trusnik's blue 1994 Oldsmobile Cutlass westbound on Frost Road. Officer Jim Curby pursued Trusnik, who refused to stop. Trusnik led Curby through Camelot Village and Tinker's Green.
On Sparrow Run, Trusnik left the road, drove his car through a backyard and a narrow field. His vehicle got stuck and was struck by Curby's cruiser, which freed the Olds. Trusnik drove a little further before the car became disabled, Streetsboro Police Sgt. Darin Powers said. Officers tracked Trusnik's footprints in the snow.
Trusnik was found in an acquaintance's home on Guenevere Street, Powers said.
"Camelot Village citizens helped point out where he went," Powers said. "The police thank them. They were very helpful."
Powers refused to comment about the Ravenna charges; only stating there wasn't another person in the vehicle and no weapon was found in the car or on Trusnik.
Fleeing and evasion charges are pending in Streetsboro.
