William E. "Bill" Black Together Again 88 of Ashland passed away Monday June 29June 30, 2009
passed away Monday June 29, 2009 at the Hospice of North Central Ohio in Ashland, Ohio. He was born April 24, 1921 in Ravenna, Ohio to the late Sherman C. and Pearl (Paxson) Black. Bill has lived in Ashland since 2005 and was a former lifelong Ravenna resident where he was a member of the First United Methodist Church. He retired in 1983 from Oak Rubber in Ravenna and was a veteran of the US Army Air Force serving his country in WW II. Bill was the former organist for the Edinburg United Church and also was a member of the Ravenna American Legion Post 331. Survivors include his son Rev. Larry (Marilyn) Black of Ashland, grandchildren Robert, Rebekah (Erik), Timothy and great grandchildren Kaylee and Kloe. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Jean in March of 2005. Calling hours will be from 10:00 AM Wednesday July 1, 2009 until time of funeral services at 11:00 AM at the Ravenna First United Methodist Church with Rev. Scott Purdum officiating. Burial will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery Ravenna, Ohio.
