e Dewey Harold Konkle, 63, of Fort Smith, Arkansas died October 30, 2009 in Fort Smith. He was a retired employee of the Whirlpool corporation, a Veteran of the US Army, member of the MasonicTemple F. and AM. Lodge #20, he was a 32rd Degree Mason and a member of the Scottish Rite Bodies. He was a member of the Church of God in Fort Smith and attended the Assembly of God Church in Ravenna, Ohio before moving to Fort Smith. Survivors include his wife Daphne Konkle, sons Dewey (Leah) Konkle, Jr. of Greenwood, AR, Dewayne A. (Kim) Konkle of Fort Smith, daughters Donella (Cecil) Hicks of Mountainburg, AR, Donette (Tim) Tilton of Arkoma, OK, 16 grandchildren, two great grandchildren, brothers John (Carol) Konkle of Deerfield, Ervin (Donna) Konkle of Ravenna, sisters Mamie (Ben) Marks, Mary (Paul) Adair both of Ravenna, Ann (Harry) Dreschler of Tallmadge and Lola (Tom) Workman of Atwater, Ohio. Calling hours will be 5-7 PM Wednesday November 4, 2009 at Shorts-Spicer- Crislip Funeral Homes Ravenna Chapel where funeral services will be 11:00 AM Thursday November 5, 2009 with Rev. Charles Rhinehart officiating. Burial will follow at Grandview memorial Park Ravenna, Ohio. The family requests memorials to the Peachtree Hospice 4300 Rogera Ave. Fort Smith, AR 72901. I graduated with Dewey and remember him fornly as being a very nice, but quiet person. I am happy that he married and found such happiness with so many Grandchildren. I send my condolances to the family.
