A memorial to veterans with a flag posting, "Taps," and rifle salute along with a prayer for veterans will be held at noon Saturday at St. Peter Cemetery, 3487 Old Forge Road, Rootstown, in front of the newly constructed cemetery gateway.
Veterans of all branches of service may attend the ceremonies with their families, and the event is open to the public.
Lunch will be available in the church hall, where a craft bazaar is being held. A quilt show is being held on the same day in the historic church.
The memorial will be performed by the Knights of Columbus, Council No. 5173, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 1055, the 82nd Airborne & the Catholic War Veterans Post No. 1954.
