Aunalee Catherine Breckenridge, 74, of Kent, died Wednesday, November 4, 2009 at Robinson Memorial Hospital in Ravenna. Born May 3, 1935 in Lancaster, OH to Bernard and Dorothy (Barnes) Haas. She taught elementary school in Chillicothe from 1955 to 1956 and Special Education Classes at the American Dependent School in Munich, Germany from 1957 to 1958. She was an elementary school teacher in Streetsboro and Field Schools from 1959 to1961. She took a special interest in teaching handicapped children. She was the Christian Education Director at St. John's Episcopal Church in Cuyahoga Falls for over ten years. She worked in California as a Property Manager for Rudolph and Sletten Construction Co. for over twenty years. A member of Club 53", a lifetime member of the VFW Auxiliary and American Legion Posts 496 & 585 Auxiliaries. She is survived by her husband, Robert F. Breckenridge, whom she married on June 16, 1955; sons, Robert M.(Leslie) Breckenridge of Kent and Brian D.(Paula) Breckenridge of San Ramon, CA; daughters, Mary Alice Breckenridge of Redwood City, CA and Colleen C. Breckenridge of Kent; grandchildren, Kalee Breckenridge, Austin Breckenridge, Andrea Breckenridge, and Lesieli Feiloakitau; brother, Bernie (Carole) Haas of Chatauqua, NY; sister, Carol (Dean) McCall of Palm Desert, CA; sister-in- law, Joanne Ricard; brother- in-law, Daniel (Janice) Breckenridge; nieces, Dee Hawkins, Sherry Haas, and Anne Winters; nephews, Fred Griffin, Michael Ricard, Bruce Haas, and Brad Haas; and special friend, Charlotte Greene. She was preceded in death by her brother, Byron Michael Haas. Celebration of Life Services will be held 5:30 P.M. Sunday, November 8th at Captain Brady VFW Post 3703, 500 VFW Parkway, Kent. Bissler & Sons Funeral Home and Crematory are handling the arrangements. (RC 11-07-09)
