Poll workers in Kent say thanks

Once again, the poll workers at the shelterhouse at Fred Fuller Park in Kent were recipients of donated food while working at the polls on Tuesday, Nov. 3.

To start our morning off, we were offered breakfast sandwiches, hash browns and hot coffee. This food was donated by McDonald’s on South Water Street in Kent.

Into the day we were fortunate to have the pleasure of using the fireplace, which was enjoyed by all of us, including our voters. When we ran out of wood, a couple of men offered to go outside and bring us more wood.

Our evening meal was donated by Jimmy John’s on East Main Street in Kent. We enjoyed large subs and potato chips. McDonald’s once again donated our drinks.

We will not forget the generous donation from Walgreens on South Water Street. We were given some bottles of hand sanitizers for voters to us. With the flu scare this was very nice to have and the voters indeed did use it, and thanked us,

A big “Thank you” goes out to all who cared for us as we did our job.
