Myra Garbett

Myra Garbett, 86, of Glendale, Az. passed away peacefully surrounded by family on November 15th, 2009. She was born September 20th, 1923 in Adina, Ohio. In her youth she was known as Mike. She graduated from Adina High school in 1941, where she was a cheerleader. After high school she worked at a dress shop until she met and married Joseph Garbett of Minerva, Ohio. They shared thirty-eight wonderful years together. They raised their four children on a small farm in Ohio, where Joseph passed away in 1984. She retired to Arizona where she became active in dance and cards. There she met and married her second husband Bill Mills of Calgary, Canada with whom she enjoyed many years of traveling. She is survived by her four children, Susan Lund of Glendale, Az., Lucy Cindric of Boydton, Va., Barbra Lindemeyer of Medina, Oh., and Larry Garbett of Tuscan, Az.; ten grandchildren, Lindsey, Brittany, Michelle, Nicole, R.J., Christopher, Joshua, Jesse, Taylor, and Tyler; as well as three great-grandchildren, Elizabeth, Luke, and Mathew. Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, November 20, 2009 at Highland Memorial Park with Rev. Chris Martin of Christ United Methodist Church officiating. In lieu of flowers the family asks donations be made in her name to Hospice of the Valley, 1510 East Flower St., Phoenix, Az., 85014. Arrangements are by Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home, 75 S.
