Fund-raiser: Christmas 'goes to the dogs' ... Santa Paws benefits Hattie Larlham Doggie Day Care & BoardingDecember 17, 2009
Everyone wants to spend a little time with Santa this holiday season, including Santa's four-legged friends. Hattie Larlham Doggie Day Care & Boarding in Akron hosted its third annual Santa Paws, a fun pet photography session on Dec. 13. For $30, each dog received a professional photograph with Santa courtesy of Lyons Photography. These lab-quality photos were developed by Halamay Color Lab Inc. and are available for pick up at Hattie Larlham Doggie Day Care & Boarding starting today. The first 100 people who brought their dogs to meet Santa also received a free gift. Everyone in attendance enjoyed complimentary coffee and cookies. All proceeds will benefit Hattie Larlham Doggie Day Care & Boarding and the people with disabilities who the program supports. Hattie Larlham Doggie Day Care & Boarding provides overnight boarding and day care services for dogs while their owners are out of town or at the office. Each dog receives the attention of the Hattie Larlham Doggie Day Care & Boarding staff that includes people with disabilities interested in pursuing a career in the pet or animal care industry and their job coaches. The long-term boarding and short-term day care experience were designed to "feel like home to your dog." Rather than cage doors and concrete floors, Hattie Larlham Doggie Day Care & Boarding is equipped with a variety of dog beds and toys to make a pet's stay as enjoyable as possible.
