The Brady Lake Road Bridge over Breakneck Creek and the CSX Railroad tracks, is scheduled to close Monday for the construction of a replacement structure.

Construction is scheduled to be completed by June 1.

The bridge is located between Merrill Road and Second Avenue in Franklin Township.

Portage County Engineer Michael Marozzi said Ruhlin Construction Co. of Akron has been awarded  the $1.89 million contract for the new bridge.

The proposed project will require the closure of Brady Lake Road, just outside of the Kent city limits.

Marozzi said the schedule for the project has been coordinated with the schedule for the Crain Avenue bridge replacement project in  Kent.

The two bridges should not be closed at the same time, he said.

Information on the detour can be obtained from the Portage County Engineer’s office by contacting Assistant County Engineer Scott Miller at 330-296-6411.

OK everyone
If there is going to be some cash involved,I will no longer call Zorro a dumb ass.
I take it back and I will direct traffic, for the whole event.
How much cash could we be talking about?
I want to plan my type of vacation based on
projected income.
Almost sounds like a county job, eah?

There's enough of a natural ramp (maybe too much) - Go for it!

I gotta ask, Zorro - did you have anything to do with the scheduling of the replacement of this bridge? It almost seems like the start of the promotion for this year's Muskrat Jamboree theme - Muskrats Then and Now.

Zorro and Muskie, why don't we try to make some money on this by promoting a show?

It would be silly to jump without cashing in on the risk. With all the Rednecks around here, I'm sure we can generate some huge crowds, maybe even get one the Dukes of Hazard cars up here.

Warning to all bridge workers.

Be on the lookout for a white with blue stripes 08 shelby mustang or any number of old chevelles.

I'll bet Zorro slash Dan Boyle will try to jump where the bridge is out.
Maybe from force of habit,of driving way too fast.
Maybe, just being dumb ass Zorro with 500 horses under him.
Either way,I would be on the lookout or just go ahead and build a ramp, so he can jump the open span and get to Kent.

Just trying to save everyone some problems and I have lived with(for 29 years)Zorro,so I know my fast cars, plus dumb ass'es.
This was a paid endorsement for driving fast cars.
