The Knights of Columbus, Council No. 3766 of Mantua, joined with the councils across the country recently to sponsor a Substance Abuse Awareness Poster Contest. This local council participated in the judging at St. Joseph School in Mantua and selected four winners, whose posters were entered at the diocesan level competition. The winners at the diocesan level will be sent to the national judging. St. Joseph's Liz LaMarca represented the Diocese of Youngstown in last year's national contest. Recognition and awards were presented by the Rev. Michael P. Garvey, the pastor of St. Joseph Parish. Grand Knight Terry Kulka presented each winner with a $100 savings bond from Cortland Band as a gift from Council No. 3766. Certificates and a trip gift card were also presented to the winning students from each grade level, kindergarten through eighth grade. A reception for the entire school followed the all-school assembly.
