On Saturday, Jan. 30, my mother, Ira Fields, suffered a stroke while at the Union Baptist Church. She is still in serious condition at Akron City Hospital. I have been so occupied with my mother's illness I have not had time to thank all the people that have helped.
I want to thank those at Union Baptist Church that called emergency services and attended to my mother till they arrived. My deepest gratitude to the Kent Fire Department and the staff at Akron City Hospital ICU for their swift and professional emergency care.
I appreciate the prayers and support expressed by so many in the community. Thank you all.
