Former NEOUCOM president named to Morgan Foundation

Lois Margaret Nora, M.D., J.D., former president and dean of medicine of the Northeastern Ohio Universities Colleges of Medicine and Pharmacy in Rootstown, has joined the Board of Directors of The Margaret Clark Morgan Foundation in Hudson.

The Margaret Clark Morgan Foundation board is comprised of select individuals who help guide the organization, aid in the oversight of the grant approval process and ensure that the mission and vision of the organization is being met. Dr. Nora will be the sixth member of the board.

Nora concluded her term as president and dean of medicine on Jan. 14 after seven years. She will continue to work with NEOUCOM as a professor of internal medicine and behavioral and community health sciences. She also has been named president emeritus of the institution as well as dean emeritus of NEOUCOM.

A neurologist with subspecialty certification in electrodiagnostic medicine and fellowship training in clinical medical ethics, Nora is a fellow of the American Academy of Neurology and the American Association of Neuromuscular and Electrodiagnostic Medicine, where she served as the organizations' president. Her scholarly interests are in medical education and where law and medicine intersect.

"We are honored to have Dr. Nora join our board," said Suzanne Morgan, chairman of the foundation. "Lois brings a world-class background and experience to our organization, coupled with a sincere personal compassion for the individual. We are delighted to have her."

from the University of Kentucky Gatton College of Business and Economics, a J.D. from the University of Chicago and an M.D. from Rush Medical College. She currently serves as a member of the Board of Directors of the Association of American Medical Colleges and as a co-chair of the Liaison Committee on Medical Education.
