The boil water order that was in effect for a portion of Kent’s north side has been lifted.

Water tests have been completed to ensure that the water is safe for drinking, according to Service Director Gene Roberts. “There is no longer any need for concern regarding the quality of the water” he said.

The area affected included North Mantua Street from Needham Avenue to the northern city limits; Needham Avenue, Standing Rock Avenue, the River Bend subdivision, Theodore Roosevelt High School, Davey Tree Expert Co. and Franklin Elementary School.

Water service for the area was shut off Saturday as part of a  water valve replacement project.
