As a community member of Streetsboro, let me say that Family Days is one of the few positive events in the boro. God Bless Chuck Kocisko and all the members of his committee who put in so much work and effort to offer community events in the boro. The mayor or the school superintendent don't put half the effort into making our community a quality place to live.

As for someone making a living off this event, get real. There is a committee that handles and decides where the funds will go and much is just re-invested into the event itself. Fireworks aren't free. And for those doing the math, each of the 8,000 people aren't coming in only one person per car. You can probably cut the money raised from parking to at least a quarter of your estimated number. Then there is the money to pay for flyers, signs, advertising, prizes for the different events, etc. Geez, don't run down such a good thing by lack of knowledge and silly innuendo about the finances of it.

$3 times 8000= $24000.00 not bad for 3 days as a subsidy to someones retirement. What about vendors fees and a persentage of the beer sales and "T" shirt sales? It might be just enough monies for a large family to survive for a full year.
