Ann T. Hurd

Ann T. Hurd 67 yrs. of age of Hiram Township, passed away Tuesday, August 26, 2008 at her residence. Mrs. Hurd was born June 6, 1941 in Buffalo, New York the daughter of the late Henry and Erna (Schwab) Lougan. Formerly of Shalersville, she had been a resident of the Hiram area since 1979 where she was a homemaker. She was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Mantua. Mrs. Hurd was a volunteer for Meals on Wheels, a former Cub Scout Leader, an avid reader, a lady who loved driving, enjoyed gardening and flowers. "The Family Pentagon" was a saying known about her running of her family where she was a mother a grandmother to many. Survivors include her husband Lawrence W. Hurd at home; children Lawrence H. "Lanky" (Terri) Hurd of Shalersville, Kevin M. (Lori) Hurd of Freedom Township, Phillip J. (Michelle) Hurd, Sr. of Garrettsville, Terri Billiter of Ravenna and Laura (Dale) Hudec of Atwater. Also surviving are her brothers Dan (Darlene) Lougen of Hiram and Robert (Joyce) Lougen of Ravenna, 13 grandchildren and 3 great- grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her grandson Jarrod and her brother Henry Lougen. Calling hours will be Friday from 2:00 P.M. - 4:00 P.M. & 6:00 P.M.-8:00 P.M. at the Green Family Funeral Home & Crematory Service in Mantua, where funeral services will be Saturday August 30, 2008 at 10:00 A.M. with the Rev. Michael Garvey and Sister Rose Anne Krantz, CDP officiating. Final resting place will follow at Hillside Cemetery in Mantua Village.
