Gov. Ted Strickland is proposing to cut not only library money but also other services such as food banks. The Akron-Canton Foodbank is a source that most, if not all, of the local foodshelves use to obtain (at very reasonable prices) many of the staples we dispense. Our statistics show an increase in the number of families that we serve here at 4 C's and it is a real worry to all of us when we see these cuts affecting the most needy, those who are already struggling. Why is it that the poorest people are the ones who always seem to bear the burden of economic cuts? Where is our compassion? There must be other solutions to balancing the budget. Let's not balance it on the backs of the poor. Please write to your state senators and representatives and urge them to find another way. Barbara Pancost Crestwood 4 C's Mantua Comments
